Sony’s Cell processor yeilds currently only at 10 – 20%?

Sony’s new 8 core CPU destined for the PS3 and jointly developed with IBM and Toshiba, is currently only producing 10-20% of chips at a high enough quality to be usable in the PS3, according to this article on RegHardware.

Rumours are now starting that Sony won’t be able to produce nearly enough CPUs to be able to meet any previously planned targets for number of boxes available to ship in November, when the PS3 hits the shelves.
